My first job in the industry was a short term contract working with Mighty Kingdom in December 2016. I was working on a Shopkins product. Little did I know those Shopkins would play and significant part in my introduction to the game development industry.
The following year I was offered a long term contract to working Mighty Kingdom. I continued to work on a suite of Shopkins games for Mighty Kingdom for many years, eventually gaining full time employment. I learned a lot making those games.
An opportunity to work on a new game at Mighty Kingdom came up, a bubble shooter called WildLife : Puzzle Story. I has the chance to work with one of the most impactful programmers in my career while working on this project, a real talent in the industry.
Mighty Kingdom worked on a new game with a lot of potential, an adorable game about cats climbing around furniture in a mansion. It was a fun project to work on and present and lot of great challenges for the team. I continued to find more amazing developer who I could learn from and learn with.
After a brief stint back on WildLife I had the opportunity to work on a cross platform game called Conan Chop Chop. After a good amount of time on mobile having the opportunity to work on a cross platform game was a great experience. So many arrows, so many arrows. Working on console games was a lot of fun. I'd love the opportunity to work in that space again. After Chop Chop I moved on to help with Ava's Manor for a short time while a couple of us waited form our next project to kick off.
Our next project gave me the opportunity to work on a sci fi game Star Trek: Lower Decks. I was lucky enough to be one of the first developers on this project. This project allowed me growth in my development which later lead to a leadership opportunity the next game I worked on... more on that later.
